Performance Tweaks
Features of this group are intended for increase speed of loading, operation, turn off an operating system and another software by changing of standard options of system thus that a computer resources which can be spent for performance of more useful tasks were released. Also these options help to increase safety and a power system effectiveness.
A system reboot is required to apply some of the tweaks.
All features in this section can be returned to initial state by means of Red Button.
When you are opening the Features window, ticks on the Performance Tweaks tab corresponds to current system settings.
In this section following features are accessible.
Automatically Close Hung Applications
Hung applications will be automatically closed without a prevention.

Automatically Close Hung Services
By default if a service does not respond Windows 20 seconds wait before it to close.

Automatically Unload DLLs from Memory
Use this option to unload DLLs automatically when the application using them has been closed.

Disable Active Desktop
With Active Desktop you can use interactive web page as your desktop wallpaper.

Disable Automatic Windows Update
Windows Update is a service provided by Microsoft for users of Microsoft Windows which provides updates for the operating system and its installed components. Microsoft Update is an optional feature that can be enabled to provide updates for other Microsoft software installed on a Windows computer, such as Microsoft Office, Windows Live applications, and Microsoft Expression.

By default Windows will run a default application when a new disk is inserted into your CD/DVD ROM drive.

Disable Desktop Cleanup Wizard
The Desktop Cleanup Wizard helps you clean up your desktop by moving rarely used shortcuts to a desktop folder called Unused Desktop Shortcuts. When enabled the Desktop Cleanup Wizard will regularly check your desktop for shortcuts that have not been used in the last 60 days. If such shortcuts are found it will allow you to remove this shortcuts and store them in an automatically created desktop folder called "Unused Desktop Shortcuts".

Disable NTFS Last Access Time
When Windows accesses a directory on an NTFS volume, it updates the Last Access time stamp on each directory it detects. Therefore, if there are a large number of directories, this can affect performance.

By default, NTFS generates the style of a name containing eight characters and three characters for the extension. It allows to save compatibility with old versions of OS of Microsoft (MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows 3.x).

Indexing the contents and properties of files designed to increase the speed of finding files on the disk or text within a file using the standard Windows search program.
In Windows Vista, when you turn off the indexing of files Windows Explorer will not display virtual folders elements.
If you use the search function a little, turn off it to improve system performance.

Disable Tablet PC Input Service
Disable Thumbnail CachingOn Microsoft Windows operating systems (starting with Windows XP), a thumbnail cache is used to store thumbnail images for Windows Explorer's thumbnail view. This speeds up the display of images as the smaller images do not need to be recalculated every time the user views the folder. This effect is more clearly seen when accessing a DVD containing thousands of photos without the thumbnail cache files and setting the view to show thumbnails next to the filenames. The problem is that over time these files are becoming more and more. Therefore, they can be periodically removed. All the necessary files in the future Windows will create anew.

Disable Time Synchronization
Stops the W32Time service. This service controls date and time synchronisation on all clients and servers in a network. If this service is stopped, date and time synchronisation will not be accessible. If this service is disconnected, any services which obviously depend on it, cannot be started.
